FIRST EDITION OF THE FLORIO FEST
On Sunday, June 26th the Florio Cellars were the stage for a unique experience, an extraordinary bash: the doors of our cellars in Marsala opened exceptionally for the first edition of the FLORIO FEST, an event devoted to the discovery of the Florio Marsala wines and Cellars, with live music and street food.
Approximately 1,000 people came for the occasion, enjoying all the beauty and magic of hospitality Made in Sicily at a party where fun melded with tradition.
Set in the farmhouse and along the byways of the Mediterranean gardens of the Florio Cellars, the night went from 7:30 pm to midnight amid tastings of our wines and marsalas in combo with traditional Sicilian gastronomic specialties proposed by Chef Peppe Giuffrè; and musical performances by, among other, the Ottoni Animati, musicians adept at merging traditional Sicilian band sounds with a more modern vibe.
The event proved to be a fine new way of experiencing the uniqueness of these places so rich in tradition and history. The Cellar spaces turned from production location into dynamic social center, opening up completely to the visitor and to the territory. The success of the festival in a lively, upbeat early summer atmosphere is therefore very auspicious for future events at the Florio Cellars: so, goodbye until we meet again, at the next edition of the Florio Fest!
